Two Sta Venera brothers have been given a six-month jail term suspended for two years for trying to burgle a bar and two shops in one night.

Mario Sant, 25, and his brother Dominic, 22, pleaded guilty to trying to break into Red Lion Bar in Marsa, Lourdes Store and Cortis Needles and Pins Shop in Zebbug on January 8 between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.

On handing down judgment, Magistrate Joseph Cassar took their clean criminal record into consideration.

Police Inspectors Jeffrey Cilia and Raymond D'Anastas prosecuted.
