The Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Michael Bonello, and Paul Farrugia, the education officer of the Institute of Financial Services Malta, have been elected Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in recognition of their sterling work towards the institute and the financial services' profession.

The appointments were announced by Charles Borg, president of the Institute of Financial Services - Malta, during the institute's annual dinner.

The election of fellows within the Chartered Institute of Bankers is considered to be the highest award that can be obtained by an individual within the institute.
