British Airways franchise carrier GB Airways is to add a weekly flight to Malta following an increase in demand and volume for bookings on the London/Malta route for summer 2003.

A spokesman for British Airways in Malta said the extra flight would bring the total number of flights up to nine per week.

The spokesman said a major factor behind the increase was British Airways' new lower fare structure, launched earlier this year.

This new fare package was launched on most European and UK domestic routes to give business travellers and holiday makers lower fares, greater flexibility and more choice.
