New Wishing Others Well building to be built

Lm145,000 needed

The Foundation of the Millennium Chapel has to raise Lm145,000 for the construction of the new Wishing Others Well building, adjacent to the chapel in Paceville, its director and founder, Fr Hilary Tagliaferro said.

The project should cost Lm200,000, but the Millennium Chapel complex would be putting up Lm25,000 and the Augustinian Province has offered Lm30,000.

On completion, it is estimated that the complex would require a regular, annual expenditure of around Lm10,000 to be run effectively and continue providing support, including material assistance to 50 needy families.

The Millennium Chapel required a centre to cater more for social activities and material support. Until now, WOW was set up in vacant premises across the road, which are now being sold, and a permanent structure was needed.

Since its inauguration in December, 2000, the Millennium Chapel in the heart of the Paceville entertainment mecca has been visited by thousands of Maltese and foreigners, people with psychological and addictive problems and those in distress, its doors being open from morning to the late hours of the night

Fr Tagliaferro said more resources would allow the Millennium Chapel Complex to extend its services to a wider circle of people.
