Next Sunday is a red-letter day for the Old Motors Club of Malta, when the club is to officially open its next headquarters in Narrow Street, Lija.

According to Dr Lino Gauci Borda, "this event will be another important milestone in the history of our club".

He told The Sunday Times last week: "In the past few years, club membership has been increasing at a steady pace and the club can now boast of about 250 members, who own over 900 'old' cars between them.

"We seem well on our way to achieving our aim of preserving, restoring, using and enjoying as many vintage and classic cars as we can."

As part of the celebrations, in conjunction with Lija Local Council, the OMC is organising an open air car show in the square in front of Lija parish church between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The cars will be blessed by the Lija parish priest and the OMC is also launching a new Website - www.oldmotorsclub.com. The club can be contacted at PO Box 48, Hamrun, tel: 2131-7027 or 2123-7716.
