A Marian song festival was held at the Gozo Cathedral on October 31 under the auspices of Bishop Cauchi. Guests included Mr Speaker and Mrs Anton Tabone, Minister Giovanna Debono, Victoria mayor Paul Cassar, and other MPs.

Vanessa Bugeja won first prize in Category A, for singers under 10 years, with Warda ta' Mhabba. Category B, for singers aged 11 to 14, was won by Deborah Cassar with Eternità, while Category C, for singers aged 15 and over, was won by Silvana Bonello, with Kuragg u Tama. Category D, for groups and choirs, was won by Fjur t'Assisi Choir, with Omm it-Tama.

Guest singers Renato and Georgina, and young Christian Grech, who will be representing Malta at the Zecchino d'Oro festival, to be held in Bologna this week, also took part in the festival.
