The Mdina cathedral museum plans to transfer its archives to another building in Mdina which was donated to it earlier this year by the Noble Agatha Formosa Gauci.
The move will free up space which will in the future be used to house a permament exhibition of contemporary Christian art, the museum spokesman said yesterday.
A total of 74 artists are taking part in an exhibition of contemporary Christian art which opened yesterday at the museum, an event held every two years.
Sixty-four of the artists are Maltese, while the others are eight Italians, a German and a Belgian. The Italian artists have donated their works to the museum.
A glossy catalogue of the works on display will be on sale through the exhibition period for a special price of Lm4, rather than the regular sale price of Lm5.
The exhibition will be open until December 21 from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on weekdays, in the afternoon on Saturdays and all day on Sunday. Entrance is free.
