The Labour Party yesterday said the Electoral Commission had confirmed its inefficiency when, in the casual election to elect a councillor at Nadur, the number of ballot papers in a packet did not tally with the official records.

The casual election was held following the death of councillor Frans Sammut.

The MLP said the commission had failed to give an explanation for this very serious shortcoming.
