Magro Brothers has organised two seminars for farmers as part of its drive to increase the local production of tomatoes for processing.

Managing director John Magro said his company would on average be paying farmers more than the minimum price of 7c per kilo for last season's crop.

He also announced several measures that would facilitate the weighing and collection of tomatoes for future harvests. He said that even for next year's crop the company intended to pay farmers higher prices for graded produce.
