The Ministry of Economic Services, through the Malta Film Commission, is organising an open weekend at Fort Ricasoli on November 16 and 17.
This is a unique opportunity for the public to visit the film sets showing ancient Rome constructed within this fort, which is a popular site for epic filming. A visit to the Mediterranean Film Studios, hosts of the world class water tanks, will also be included.
Various street entertainers like fire eaters, jugglers, clowns, face painters and others like Mini Bugz, magicians, singers, the AFM band, the Police Band and Rescue Corps will be present throughout the days.
There will also be shows on the making of films shot in Malta such as Gladiator, and The Count Of Monte Cristo.
The site will be open from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and proceeds from this event will go towards the restoration of Fort Ricasoli.
Bus route number 4 to Kalkara will extend its service to the fort and will leave every half-hour from Valletta.
