The Ramla Bay Hotel in Marfa and the Island International Hotel in Qawra, owned by the Tarcisio Galea Group, are to become part of the Garden Hotels and Aparthotels, a rapidly growing hotel chain based in Majorca.
The Garden Group has hotels in the three Balearic Islands and in Tunisia.
The hotels will, as from January 1, 2003, be branded as Ramla Bay Garden Hotel and Island Garden Hotel.
The franchise agreement includes hotel management assistance and training.
The Tarcisio Galea Group plans to start a Lm1 million refurbishment of the Ramla Bay in November 2004, which will cover all the hotel's public areas as well as the construction of an additional floor with 40 guest rooms.
Once completed, the group plans to start refurbishing the Island International Hotel, as well as to extend it.
The hotels employ around 200 people.
