A Maltese man of Syrian origin yesterday pleaded guilty to bribing a public officer (whose name cannot be published by court order) at the airport last month.
Hamid Haj Habo, 40, also admitted forging seals, stamps or other government marks, making use of a forged passport and forging an immigration document on October 21 at 5 p.m.
He was also charged with two counts of forgery, giving false information to the authorities and receiving someone else's passport, to which he also pleaded guilty.
Magistrate Carol Peralta put off the case for judgment.
Police Inspectors Jeffrey Cilia and Neville Xuereb prosecuted.
Dr Joseph Brincat appeared for Habo.
