The Customs Department will next week destroy more cigarettes found to be counterfeit when they were unloaded here for transhipment, Customs public relations official Alfred Cappello said yesterday.
Last week the department destroyed some 4.5 million counterfeit Marlboro cigarettes.
Mr Cappello said no excise tax is paid on cigarettes which are not destined for local consumption but were unloaded here for transhipment.
