A Qormi man was yesterday conditionally discharged for two years for damaging a taxi cab.

Emanuel Caruana, 23, pleaded guilty to damaging Charles Bonello's taxi in Naxxar on May 4, threatening Jesmond Grech in excess of the limits of provocation, breaching the peace and swearing.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, in passing judgment, noted that Caruana had paid back the damage, had a clean criminal record and filed a guilty plea at an early stage of the proceedings.

Caruana was bound not to harass Grech and Bonello for a year against a penalty of Lm100 in default.

Police Inspectors Simon Galea and Dennis Theuma are prosecuting.
