Simon Zammit was eliminated from the IBSF World Snooker Championship yesterday not-withstanding a fine 4-0 win over China Hong Kong's Fung Kwok Wai.

Zammit finished on the same number of points with the same Wai, who made it through as the best fourth-placed player thanks to a better frame difference. The Malta champion had six wins from ten matches but won two frames less of Wai and ended fifth in Group E.

Alex Borg finished off his group commitments in style after defeating Francois Ellis of South Africa 4-1.

The Mellieha player topped Group F with nine wins from ten outings and has been seeded second in the last 32 day phase which starts tomorrow.
