GWU in dispute at Foster Clark

The General Workers' Union has informed its members at Foster Clark Products to be ready for any directive it could issue, saying in a statement that it was ready for a direct confrontation with the company.

The GWU said a Foster Clark Products campaign against it and its shop steward was continuing - and described the attitude as "absolutely unacceptable", particularly since the company management was aware of the situation and had done nothing about it.

The union also noted discrimination between the workers who were GWU members and those of other unions.

The GWU said it had "lost its faith" in the company's human resources department, and was no longer willing to negotiate with these officials.
