The Assembly of the Archdiocesan Synod has completed discussion on another two of the eight documents which had been drawn up following extensive consultations.

On Friday the Synod discussed marriage and the family, and on Saturday, it discussed the document entitled "Cuture, Society and Church", the Curia said.

Another three documents remain to be discussed by the end of November.

The synod was launched by the Archbishop, Mgr Joseph Mercieca, in 1999, and involved feedback with over 100,000 people, through meetings, questionnaires and discussions. Following this phase, the topics were split into eight documents which are now being reviewed one at a time.
