The Delegation of the European Commission is organising the sixth edition of the European Film Festival, in conjunction with the Embassies of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
The aim of this European Film Festival is to show the wide variety of European productions and to present to the Maltese public the European cultural heritage which is always evolving through exchanges and mutual influences.
The films are screened at the Eden Century Cinemas Complex (Screen 11) at 8.15 p.m., with the exception of two which will be presented in Gozo at the Citadel Theatre on November 8 and 9 at 7 p.m.
Tickets at Lm1 will be available at the Eden Century Cinemas (tel: 2137-6401) and the Citadel Theatre (2155-9955) from tomorrow.
Two family films will be screened again at St James Cavalier, Valletta: the Finnish filmTommy and the Wildcat (U) and the Dutch film Molokai - The Story of Fr Damien (PG), both in English version, on November 10 and 17, respectively, at 4 p.m.
As in previous editions, the European Film Festival will be contributing to raise funds for a good cause. This year proceeds will be collected in aid of Dar il-Kaptan, a respite home managed by the Foundation for Respite Care Services, which opened in 1991. The foundation is a non-profit organisation, which provides periodic respite care to people with special needs and their families and carers.
