At a time when the insurance industry is undergoing a revolution in terms of pricing strategy and underwriting criteria, Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc of Gloucester in the UK have sought to broaden and strengthen their International Business Division by appointing Richard Wyatt ACII, as underwriting manager for this division.
Mr Wyatt has spent most of his career with Eagle Star and, following the wave of mergers and acquisitions that has reigned within the UK market in recent years and after Zurich's acquisition of Eagle Star, he was assigned a multi-faceted role dealing with property insurance and technical solutions for UK and multinational risks.
This addition to the company's staff compliment will not only enhance the company's reputation to engage some of the best people working within the insurance industry but also shows the long-term commitment to offer valuable assistance in the foreign territories within which Ecclesiastical operate.
The international division provides assistance to operations in Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland and Australia, and are constantly looking at ways to bolster their market presence while retaining profitability as their topmost priority.
Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc, whose local agents and attorneys are SMS Insurance Agency Ltd, are mainly a property insurance company whose origins date back to the late 19th century when churches in the UK were their prime target for business.
This has changed over the past 120 years and has seen them infiltrate a diverse selection of markets, which include commercial and private property, motor, travel and marine cargo insurance, as well as branching out into the life and investments business.
