Maria Coppola talking to her young footballers during training in Birzebbuga.

Nursery club Birzebbuga Windmills have earned a reputation as one of the best football organisations around, grooming a number of footballers since its inception around 30 years ago.

The committee keeps the nursery going while improving the talents of young players all vying to make it big one day. One of the best ever Birzebbuga Windmills product is David Carabott, the Valletta FC wingback and Malta skipper.

This season, they have an interesting addition to their set-up as for the first time ever a female coach, Maria Coppola, was engaged to look after the Windmills' U-7 section, which includes boys and girls.

Coppola played in the women's league and also donned the national team jersey. She spent four years of her career playing in a US college team in Oklahoma.

Parents interested in enrolling their children in the nursery may obtain more details by phoning 21-447569.
