Neglected playing field

Allow me to express the displeasure of many parents about the neglected and miserable state of the playing field at Parades Street, St Paul's Bay. There, one can find only broken equipment, broken benches and no light at all.

This situation has existed for many months and, in the case of broken and missing equipment for many years. These were taken away and never replaced. This is not what usually happens in other towns.

One wonders whether any one councillor ever had a look at this almost abandoned playing field when it is situated very close to the council's office. Lately, vandalism has been rampant due to the fact that there is no light at all.

I am therefore also appealing to Mr Eric Vella, from Enemalta, to install some powerful lighting so that local children and their parents can enjoy some leisure in the evenings, if and when this playing field is restored to its original state.
