Dr Hugh Peralta is to be invested with the title of cavaliere ufficiale by the Italian Ambassador to Malta, Alvise Memmo.

He is being honoured for the services he has been giving to Italy for the last 20 years, the embassy said.

Dr Peralta has acted as legal adviser to the embassy since 1983, offering "indispensable legal assistance not only to many Italian citizens, who found themselves in difficulty in Malta, but also to the consular section of the Italian embassy".

The ceremony is being held at the residence of the Italian ambassador at noon tomorrow.
