CSCM in talks to hold second Emirates Young Footballer Challenge

Chelsea Supporters Club - Malta (CSCM) are having talks with Emirates Airline to hold the second Young Footballer Challenge.

Last year, Malta was among the first countries to benefit from Emirates' £24 million four-year sponsorship of Chelsea FC through the Young Footballer Challenge. The concept of this event was developed here by CSCM in collaboration with the Dubai-based international airline.

Over 30 boys from various nurseries took part in the first edition. If negotiations are concluded in the coming days, then CSCM's plan is to launch the second edition at an official briefing next month.

Chelsea FC chairman, Ken Bates, supports the Challenge and Football Development Officer, Chris Harris visited Malta specifically to oversee the first edition.

"This year we are envisaging more young participants and with the collaboration of Emirates we are investing on various elements needed for the smooth running of the competition," said Joe Anastasi of CSCM.

Chelsea FC supporters wishing to join the club may contact Anastasi on 21-383423 or write to the Honorary Secretary, 6 Doris Flats, Msierah Street, San Gwann.
