Following a wave of complaints by residents of Count Roger Street, St Mary Street and Kola Xara Street, Rabat, the Malta Transport Authority has decided to modify, as from this coming Monday, the traffic management system in Borg Olivier Street in a bid aimed to reduce the volume of traffic entering the town's core.

Under the new traffic flow system Nikola Saura Street will become one-way from the Saqqajja to Borg Olivier Street. This means that traffic, excepting route buses, will be permitted to flow only in a one-way direction - from the Saqqajja to St Dominic Square.

In order to further facilitate the traffic flow, Kola Xara Street is to become one-way, from the direction of St Dominic's Square towards the junction with College Street.

Traffic will also not be allowed to flow towards St Paul Street from the Parish Square. On Sunday mornings, however, when St Rita Street is closed to traffic during the open-market hours, traffic will be allowed to flow into St Paul Street, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
