Operation Pedestal
In Operation Pedestal, popularly known to us as the Santa Marija convoy, only five merchant ships made it miraculously to Malta. I wonder whether any information could be gathered about the fact that, when these brave ships arrived at Malta, the Luftwaffe did not continue the bombing.
Perhaps a historian can elaborate on the real reason why the bombing fizzled out completely, when the ships approached and got to their destination, after the ferocious non-stop attacks during the convoy voyage.
