The second round of the Hard Rock Café Battle of the Bands will be starting this week. The 14 bands have been reduced to eight.
Corkskrew and Colourblind will be playing the first of the 'quarter-finals' on Tuesday; SKyN and Crosswalk will be playing on Thursday, Spookey Monkey and Bitterside on October 22 and Batteries Not Included and Scream Daisy on October 24.
Following the first round, Scream Daisy were the losing band with the highest score, and consequently earned a place in the second round.
The semi-finals will be held on October 31 and November 7, while the final will be held on November 14.
All performances will take place at the Hard Rock Café premises in Bay Street, and start at 10 p.m.
Following the results of the first round it was decided to decrease the public vote to 40 points, rather than the first round's 80. This was decided yesterday following a meeting with all the bands who have survived so far, where it was agreed that the voting system could easily be manipulated.
As things stand now, the four judges can vote up to 40 points each, as in the first round, so the maximum vote is now 200, rather than 240 as it was before.
