Pierre Sammut of BDS Limited of Mriehel has just returned from Paris, where he attended the Apple Expo and Apple CEO Steve Jobs' Keynote Speech.

Apple's highly acclaimed new operating system, Mac OSX 10.2, codenamed "Jaguar", was unveiled. This innovative UNIX-based operating system was demonstrated by Mr Jobs himself to a packed Palais de Congrès. This new operating system sold more than 100,000 copies in less than a week.

Mac OSX 10.2 boasts 250 new features over the previous operating system. Among the new features demonstrated by Mr Jobs was iCal, an elegant personal calendar application that helps you manage your life and your time better than ever before.

iCal lets you keep track of your appointments and events with multiple calendars featuring at-a-glance views of upcoming activities by day, week or month. iCal is available for free download from the Apple's Website www.apple.com for those avant-garde users who are already using OSX 10.2 Jaguar.

Mr Jobs also showed how OSX 10.2 Jaguar worked smoothly and seamlessly with the latest Bluetooth technology, which provides wireless connection to peripherals, such as printers and scanners.

Mr Sammut also attended Apple's IMC Meeting, which was addressed by, among others, Jacques Gourlet (regional sales manager, CEMEA) and Pascal Cagni (vice-president, Apple Europe). During this meeting, the raw power and speed of the latest range of PowerMacs and XSERVE Servers was highlighted, with a particular emphasis once again on the UNIX-based OSX 10.2 and OSX 10.2 Server.
