The Gordon Asciak Tennis School, sponsored by EuroSport and situated at the Marsa Sports Club, recently organised a tournament for juniors for those who attended the summer group coaching.

Over 60 players took part and the level of play produced was definitely very encouraging. A mini-tennis tournament was also held, and one can already see that some players have a very bright future ahead.

The girls' mini-event was won by Hannah Scicluna who beat Jessica Tortell in a very exciting final. The honours in the boys' event went to Andrew Sladden who beat Malik Atwair in another close final.

Emma Delia beat Christine Dalli in the girls' singles final.

This tournament was the first in a series of events to be organised regularly. The aim is to encourage these players to eventually take part in open competitions and, of course, to pick out promising players who eventually could represent Malta in future.
