Graduation anniversary

The 50th anniversary of the graduation of 114 students from courses leading to qualifications in the professions was celebrated yesterday, bringing together graduates from as far afield as Australia, Canada and the US.

A Mass of Thanksgiving, led by the Archbishop, Mgr Joseph Mercieca was celebrated at the University (Jesuits) Church, Valletta followed by an oration "University, Fifty Years Later" given by Prof. Frank Vella.

The Chancellor of the University, John Rizzo Naudi later presented mementoes to the 'golden graduates' or to their widows.
