Obituary

MICELI-FARRUGIA. On September 29, ANTHONY (Ninì) aged 88, passed away peacefully at his residence in Ta' Xbiex, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, Lilian, his children, Mimici and Francis Vassallo, Mark and Josette, Helene and Ivor Zammit, Marina and Mark Hogg, Alberto and Ann, Francesca and Geoffrey Warr, his brother Gino, his sister Giovanna Stagno d'Alcontres, his grandchildren, Alexia and Michael Perotti, Adriana, Steffan, Christopher, Jan, Antonia, Andrew, Emma, Luisa, Ella, Sarah, Nicholas and Michaela; his great-grandchildren, Antonia and Julia, his cousins, Johanna Farrugia, Louis and Monica Farrugia, and Marisa O'Cock, his other relatives and friends, including Lina Anastasi and his devoted staff, Rena Sciberras, Maryrose Gingell, Joe Xuereb and Tony Pizzuto. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves his residence on Tuesday, October 1, at 9.15 a.m. for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta' Xbiex, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by a private interment in the family vault at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity of Cospicua, SOS Albania - Preca College, or the Hospice Movement, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

XUEREB. On September 28, at St Luke's Hospital, GEORGINA (Gina) aged 75 of Lija passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Mgr Alfred Xuereb, archpriest of Mdina, her sisters Carmen, widow of Joseph and Maria, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Lija parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Lija cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated.

Requiem Masses

Today being the trigesima die from the death of MARY ANASTASI, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said at 6 p.m. at St Patrick's church, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.

New Foundation

A new foundation has been set up by brothers John and George Papagiorcopulo, to promote awareness on the need for public places to be made more accessible to the disadvantaged.

Job Centres Closed

The Employment and Training Corporation job centres in Cospicua, Mosta and Valletta will be closed in the afternoon on Wednesday. All offices and branches of the corporation will be closed on Friday, due to the ETC staff annual conference.

Gozo For Albania

A concert on the theme of "Gozo for Albania" is to be held in the Don Bosco Oratory in Victoria, on October 13 at 7.30 p.m., to raise money for a pastoral centre and church dedicated to Our Lady Ta' Pinu, in an Albanian mission.

Dar L-Emigrant Mass

The Emigrants Commission is organising a Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Fr Publius Cassar at Dar l-Emigrant in Valletta on Friday at 5.30 p.m.

Fr Cassar died earlier this month at the age of 84, after spending 21 years working with Maltese emigrants in Australia.
