Five policemen injured arresting men

Five policemen were slightly injured and were treated in hospital after three men, of Arab nationality, resisted arrest early yesterday morning.

The police said the incident happened after policemen at Paceville stopped a car which was being driven without lights. When the police asked the three men in the car for their identification, the men became aggressive and fled the scene.

They were intercepted a short while later and, after resisting arrest for a second time, were taken to police headquarters for questioning.

The police said five policemen were injured in the incident but they were allowed home after hospital treatment.
