The Kingfisher Sport Fishing Association annual marathon, this year taking place at The Strand, Sliema, was officially inaugurated on Friday by Environment Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.

In all, 11 teams are taking part with the proceeds going to Razzett tal-Hbiberija's new project - a Multi-Sensory Room. The marathon will end this evening as popular local singers will entertain those present.

The KSFA have been holding this event since 1998 now. Each team is made up of four members with prizes going to the top three sides in the competition. Razzett tal-Hbiberija personnel will be on the spot to collect funds.

The Multi-Sensory Room enables people with disability to enjoy a wide range of sensory experiences like therapy, learning, relaxation and fun. The concept is to create events which focus on particular senses such as touch, vision, sound, small and taste.

Donations for the Multi-Sensory Room may also be made by calling one of the following numbers - 50049091 - Lm1; 50049093 - Lm3; 50049095 - Lm5.
