Löwenbräu would make the best of the opportunities offered by European Union membership in the same way it had managed to meet the challenges and opportunities emerging from the competition in the local market when it set up a brewery in Malta 10 years ago, the Union Haddiema Maghqudin's general secretary Gejtu Vella said.

Mr Vella was speaking while leading a union delegation to the Lowenbrau brewery in Qormi as part of the celebrations marking the 36th anniversary of the UHM's foundation.

Mr Vella praised the management for its good relations with the workforce.
