I would like to express my disappointment at the proposed development of a dive centre in the part of the Exiles beach facing Gnien l-Indipendenza ("Dive Centre to be relocated", August 27).

The area being proposed happens to be the only part of the beach suitable for sunbathing in view of the existing concrete surface elevated away from the seashore.

This particular area has been popular and is frequented by Maltese and tourists. Unfortunately, and to our great astonishment, the authorities want to deprive us of this area.
