The two nature reserves, one in St Paul's Bay and the other in Mellieha, are featured in the first of four monthly programmes on eco-tourism on TVM next Thursday at 6.05 p.m.
Lino Farrugia, secretary general of GKNK, the hunters' group, Assistant Police Commissioner Josie Brincat and Joseph Mangion, BirdLife president, are some of the people interviewed on the subject.
"These television programmes form part of the overall Eco-tourism Year (2002) programme aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the relationship between people and their environment and its knock-on effect on tourism," said its producer and presenter, Pamela Hansen.
The remaining programmes are to be aired in October, November and December and deal with valleys, dumping and pollution; public gardens and last but not least the all-important waters that encircle our island.
The TV programmes are sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority.
