¤ The feast of Our Lady Salus Infirmorum is being celebrated in Qala today. Mass will celebrated at Qala parish church at 5.30, 6.30, 8 and 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Concelebrated Mass and prayers to Our Lady of the Sick, with the homily delivered by Fr Martin Cilia MSSP and with the participation of St Joseph parish choir, will be held at 5.30 p.m. It will be followed by an aux flambeaux procession.

¤ An official ceremony marking Independence Day, presided over by the Prime Minister, is being held on Independence Square, Victoria, today at 6.45 p.m. It will be followed by the Independence Day Concert (being held in Gozo for the first time this year) by the National Orchestra conducted by Michael Laus, on St Augustine Square at 8 p.m.

¤ A coffee morning, organised by the St Joseph Band Club of Ghajnsielem, is being held at the band club on Tuesday at 9.15 a.m.

¤ A coffee morning, organised by the Cathedral parish, is being held at Villa Fiorita, Marsalforn, on Tuesday. Transport leaves Savina Square at 8.45 a.m. Tickets, at Lm1.25, may be obtained from Grace Debono, Menzia Farrugia or Coney Island Bar.

¤ High tea, to raise funds for Gozitan missionaries in Guatemala, will be held at Villa Fiorita, Marsalforn, on Thursday at 5.30 p.m. For tickets call: 2155-6509.

¤ A meeting for Gozitan men, to mark the feast of the Archangels St Michael, St Gabriel and St Raphael, is being held at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary on Saturday at 6 p.m. It will be followed by a penitential celebration at 6.30 p.m. Bishop Nikol Cauchi will also lead Concelebrated Mass.

¤ A car boot sale at Lm3 per car, organised by the Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo, is being held at Marsalforn car park on October 6 from 9 a.m.
