The Convention on the Future of Europe or the European Convention brings together representatives of governments and national parliaments from both the current 15 member states of the EU as well as from the 13 candidate countries. The European Parliament and the European Commission also have their respective representatives.

Each country has three representatives. Malta's delegates are: Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott (representing the Maltese government); Dr Michael Frendo, MP (PN) and Dr Alfred Sant MP (MLP). Their substitutes are Mr John Inguanez, Ms Dolores Cristina and Dr George Vella respectively.
