A San Gwann woman was yesterday jailed for two months and fined Lm100 for drug dealing four years ago.

Annette Bone, 21, was found guilty of trafficking in ecstasy and cannabis resin on and before April 11, 1998.

Magistrate Noel Cuschieri heard how police searched a Gozo farmhouse occupied by Bone and her friends and found an ecstasy pill and cannabis resin hidden in one of Bone's socks.

Bone explained she had bought nine ecstasy pills and two blocks of cannabis resin for Lm101 a few weeks before going to Gozo.

She explained that three of the pills were for her personal use while the rest were for her friends who were to pay her back.

Magistrate Cuschieri remarked that the evidence showed that Bone did not buy the drugs for a profit and noted that she had a clean criminal record and had helped police in their investigations.

He ruled that the minimum punishment prescribed by law was appropriate in the circumstances.

Police Inspector Abraham Zammit prosecuted.
