I would not have written this letter were it not that V. Cordina (September 2) has insinuated doubts about my honesty.
I can assure Mr Cordina that in 50 years' driving, I do not have one single claim, my conduct sheet is white and I have been enjoying my 60 per cent no-claim discount for as long as my memory carries me. I have never had any problems with my insurance company.
I presume that if the government is satisfied that I can drive and grants me a valid driving licence, there is no reason why an insurance company should be able to bar me from driving, especially my own car, for which I pay the insurance cover, once a car insurance is obligatory.
My only fault is that I am over 75 and own a car.
