Young Gaddafi's team beats Hibs

Libyan soccer champions Ittihad, captained by the son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi beat Hiberians 2-1 in a friendly at Ta' Qali on Thursday. Cameroon international striker Patrick Mboma was among the scorers.

The Libyan embassy said Eng. Saadi Gaddafi played a major part in the match. "He made excellent passes to his players and was an asset to victory. The game turned out to be of high level modern football between the two teams."

Spectators included Libyan ambassador Ali Mohamed Nagem, representatives from Libyan companies, and a considerable number of Libyans resident in Malta.
