Grand MaÎtre 2000 is the third vintage of a limited-release wine produced by Marsovin. Grand Maître is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown at Marsovin's Ghajn Rihana vineyards, a vineyard spanning ten tumoli that is focused on low yields and premium quality grapes.

This normally limits the vintage to around 6,000 bottles, of which more than half have been sold prior to the announcement of its release. The wine is aged for 15 months in French Oak barriques stored under optimal conditions inside Marsovin's wine cellars to yield a wine that is very concentrated, full-bodied and of an intense, fruity and aromatic character.

Each vintage is dedicated to one of the Grand Masters and, being made by appointment to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Marsovin donates a sum of money to this order for every bottle shown. The 2000 vintage is dedicated to Grand Master Fra Didier de Saint Jaille, represented on the metal label by his coat-of-arms.

Grand Master de Saint Jaille was appointed in 1535 by the Knights of the Order while he was in Montpellier, France. One of the shortest reigns was terminated abruptly by his death in Montpellier before reaching Malta, making him the only Grand Master never to set foot on Maltese soil.
