Maltacom said yesterday that its campaign to refund charges for PhoneMail deposits during April and May had reached its third phase.
Phase one comprised the mailing of telephone bills and relevant PhoneMail refunds for business customers (April calls) and phase two focused on a similar process for residential customers (March/April calls).
The company said that for the period April 1 to April 26, and for the period May 24 to May 31, where the data was available it was making a full refund on a call-by-call basis.
As for the period April 27 to May 23, for which data was not available, Maltacom would be refunding all local calls of 17 seconds or less duration. This covered most PhoneMail deposits as well as a number of short calls unrelated to PhoneMail.
All these local calls of 17 seconds or less duration would also be itemised on a call-by-call basis in the refund voucher.
In the current phase three, Maltacom said it had mailed its clients itemisation of PhoneMail charges for April and May, a refund voucher covering these charges and a covering letter explaining the procedure
PhoneMail refund vouchers may be exchanged for cash at any Maltacom or Allcom branch office, provided the relevant bill has been settled. Alternatively, they may be used as part payment for the settlement of bills.
The voucher, together with the customer's ID card, is to be presented with the bill when effecting payment, or attached to a cheque when payment is effected by post. The vouchers cannot be re-issued and are valid for two months.
