Obituary

BONELLO. On September 9, RITA née Laferla of Birkirkara, aged 88, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Silvio and his wife Josephine, Joseph and his wife Adleen, Arthur and his wife Margaret, her sister Tessie, her brothers Emanuel, Corrado, Frank and his wife of Canada, her sister-in-law Inez Vella, nephews, friends and her great-grandchildren. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Mary's church (knisja l-qadima), Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.

LA ROSA DE CRISTOFARO. On September 8, at St Luke's Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 72, passed peacefully away, comforted by rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his most beloved wife Helen née Carter, his children Tonio, Anna and her husband Edward Smith, Marisa and her husband Norman Vella, his grandchildren Joe-Joe and Helena, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

FALZON - ANTONIA (Ninette). Today the second anniversary of her death. Fondly remembered and loved by her husband Stephen and children Claude and Aaron. Today's 6.15 p.m. Mass at Ta' Giezu church, Valletta, will be offered for the repose of her soul.

FENECH - DIANA. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother on the 13th anniversary of her demise. Always fondly remembered in our hearts and prayers. Her husband Carmel and children Rita and Joe Pace, Ray and Anna Fenech, Judith and Ray Debono, Anna and Alfred Vella, Mark and Tanya Fenech, and grandchildren. Today's 6.30 p.m. Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fleur-de-Lys, Birkirkara, will be offered for the repose of her soul. The attendance of relatives and friends will be much appreciated.

GAUCI - MARY. On the 14th anniversary of her death. Fondly remembered by her sons Godfrey and his wife Carmen, Michael and his wife Nathalie, her daughter Norma and her husband Alfred Bezzina and her grandchildren.

GAUCI - OLGA. Always in our thoughts and prayers, especially today the fourth anniversary of her death. Her daughters Phyllis and Tania, in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May God grant her eternal rest.

Prayer Meeting

The Mary Queen of Peace prayer meeting will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 6.15 p.m. at St Joseph Institute, Sta Venera. Fr Louis Mallia, MSSP, will celebrate Mass.

VAT Receipt Books

Registered taxpayers who placed an order with the VAT Department for manual fiscal receipt books should collect them from the department during office hours, the VAT Department said.

The office hours are, in September, Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 to 11.30 a.m.; and from October 1 to June 15 on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m.

All used receipt books should be taken back duly filled in.

Those persons still in possession of old fiscal receipt books, whether used or not, should return them as soon as possible.

Evening Courses

Winter evening courses at the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce start in October at Palazzo de la Salle, Republic Street, Valletta.

There are several courses available in arts, music and crafts. Application forms are available from the society and the closing date for registration is September 20.

Service For Philatelists

Philatelists holding pre-January 1998 stamps which are no longer valid for postal purposes, and who wish to have them cancelled for philatelic purposes, are requested to hand them to the Maltapost Philatelic Bureau at 305 Qormi Road, Marsa for cancellation with a July 31 metal handstamp, Maltapost said yesterday.

Opus Dei

The monthly recollections of Opus Dei will be held at Tal-Herba church in Birkirkara on Friday at 7 p.m. for men, and at Our Lady of Victories church, Valletta, on Saturday at 9.15 a.m. for women.

Evening Courses
