Stagecoach Theatre Arts School in its fifth year
Stagecoach Theatre Arts School will shortly be opening its doors for its fifth year in Malta.
Stagecoach is the UK's biggest and most reputed part-time school for the performing arts for children. There are now 20,000 students attending Stagecoach once a week, worldwide.
Stagecoach is now operating from six different centres in Malta - Mosta, St Andrew's, Birkirkara, Birzebbuga, Mgarr and Victoria, Gozo.
Stagecoach has now established itself as a theatre arts school of quality and integrity that is easily accessible from all areas in Malta and Gozo.
Stagecoachers attend sessions once a week for three hours during which time they will do an hour of drama, an hour of jazz dance and an hour of singing.
"We are now looking forward to another successful year with the introduction of further stages. This is Stagecoach's 16+, a more specialised form of Stagecoach which is tailor-made for those who are 16 years or over, and of course we also have the Trinity Exams. All very exciting stuff," Edward Mercieca, Senior Principal at Stagecoach, said.
"At Stagecoach much importance is given to two things, fun and discipline. It is of paramount importance that the children enjoy themselves.
"It is also essential to be disciplined. Without discipline there is no success whether in the theatre or in life itself. At Stagecoach we strike a fine balance between fun and discipline," Mr Mercieca said.
A proud moment for Stagecoach this year has been the casting of one of its students, Andrea Gauci, in Stagecoach's London production of Barnum.
Auditions for local Stagecoachers for the production had been held locally and videoed and were then seen together with hundreds of other auditionees from which only 60 were selected.
Anyone interested in applying for a place at Stagecoach may call Edward Mercieca on 21419306 or 99445030 or email emerc@bigfoot.com.
