Fourteen competitors have applied to take part in the national bodybuilding championships, organised by the Malta Amateur Bodybuilders Association (MABA), which are being held on September 21 at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University, Tal-Qroqq.

The championships are a dope tested event and the overall winner and runner-up will represent Malta at the IFBB World Championships in Cairo next month.

Several established bodybuilders and other promising newcomers are taking part in this year's championships. The fact that five bodybuilders have already won a national title on previous occasions and that the competitors are coming from eight different gyms, make the event even more interesting.

As usual, the championships will be divided in various categories, that is novice, U-18, U-21, Over 40 and other weight categories.

The MABA may be contacted on 21-661475.
