Captain Paul Camilleri RNR recently became the new commanding officer of the Malta Sea Cadets, taking over from Lt Cdr Lino Camilleri RNR.

Lt Cdr Camilleri served as commanding officer for the last 12 years.

Capt. Paul Camilleri joined the sea cadet unit 10 years ago, was commissioned as lieutenant in 1996 and promoted to the rank of captain three years ago.

The handing over ceremony was held at a farewell party by the sea cadet unit in honour of former British High Commissioner Howard Pearce.

During the party, Lt Cdr J.V. Ebejer was presented with a memento on completion of 40 years service to the sea cadet unit. Lt Cdr Lino Camilleri has now taken over the post of Malta/UK Sea Cadet liaison officer.
