Six sea cadets and two members from the Malta GC Unit of the Sea Cadets Corps have returned from 12 days of training in north Lincolnshire in the UK.

Lt Cdr Lino Camilleri, Petty Officer Raymond Demanuele, PO C. Matthew Camilleri, LC Neil Camilleri, AC Dylan Seychell, AC David Cristina, LC Andrew Cachia and Cadet Phoebe Ann Beddingfield were guests of the Scunthorpe Sea Cadet Corps -Training Ship Ariadne.

The six cadets and PO Demanuele qualified in RYA Level 1 power boating and First Aid Class 2. Cadets Cachia and Beddingfield also qualified as competent crew in boat pulling.

The UK visit was sponsored by the UK Sea Cadet Corps, Eastern Area Sea Cadets and the North Lincolnshire Council. The programme of activities was organised by Tony Woodcock, Scunthorpe Unit chairman and Chief Petty Officer Andrew Whyte, unit commanding officer.

Lt Cdr Camilleri said the highlight of the visit was a meeting with Darrell Barkworth, mayor of north Lincolnshire.

"A team of cadets from the Scunthorpe Unit will be coming to Malta in August 2004 on an exchange visit," Lt Cdr Camilleri said.
