SDM, Studenti Demokristjani Maltin, are this year celebrating the 25th anniversary since the infamous incidents of October 5, 1977. The day symbolises the Maltese students' ardent belief in the fundamental right of freedom of expression and support for the values of democracy, which were threatened at the time.

Declared Student's Day by the students present who were beaten up by the police because of their participation in the protests, SDM has celebrated this important day by organising the annual SDM Unplugged Concert. This year, SDM is putting up an activity including an exhibition depicting this important event.

In view of this, SDM is seeking to compile a list of persons who either actively participated in the 1977 event, or could assist us in compiling information about this infamous day. Relative information should be mailed to Studenti Demokristjani Maltin, Dar l-Istudent, University of Malta, Msida MSD 06 or e-mailed on info@sdm.org.mt or faxed on 32902135. It is preferable if the correspondence would reach SDM by Sunday.
