I agree with Franco Farrugia (August 15) that wardens could do much to control road hazards which are all but ignored at the moment. However, as a driver who has used a seat-belt regularly for 24 years, I have never felt the need to unbuckle in order to park my car.

Many people are under the impression that seat-belts are meant to help you in "a bad crash".

The reality is that they are most useful in collisions which take place at the relatively moderate speeds of 30-50mph.
