About 35 NCW members and friends attended a walking tour of Vittoriosa on August 7. The tour was conducted by Lorenzo Zahra, an authority on the three cities. The walk started at the Couvre Port Gate, one of the three gates into the city, and then proceeded along the bastions.

The group was shown the main buildings and monuments of the city, such as the Armoury, the Bishop's Palace, the Sacra Infermeria and the St Laurence parish church. Mr Zahra recounted in vivid detail the history of the illustrious city and its people. The tour ended at Vittoriosa Square where the group enjoyed light snacks at the band club and listened to a concert as part of the celebrations of the feast of St Laurence.
